We Write Things
We Write Things is a rebellion born from a single-minded goal: create. We exist to celebrate our passions and indulge our creative curiosity. We write about pop culture and personal obsessions — whatever we want.
This is We Write Things.
Sometimes the curveballs life throws turn out to be more delight and less the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. The sunsetting of a former outlet meant I needed a new home for my film criticism and commentary. It was also an opportunity to unite with one of my favorite collaborators, Annemarie Miller, and build something of our own. A site free of spin and subservience to clicks and quotas. We just wanted to write, so we gathered some like-minded friends and got to it.
We Write Things plays host to a number of recurring features — these range in style and tone from straight-forward travelogues to whimsical attempts to recreate the fantastic goods showcased on The Great British Bake-Off to long-form, conversational film analysis.

Film Criticism and Commentary
I've been a professional film critic since 2012 — I screen more than 100 movies a year (155 was the final tally in 2016) and participate in awards voting as a member of the Denver Film Critics Society. We Write Things plays host to all of my reviews, commentary and festival coverage, as well as occasional interviews with filmmakers and performers.
